Dental Health

A clean and healthy mouth starts with brushing

Bacteria from dental infections can enter the bloodstream and cause infections in other organs. During each physical exam, our doctor will examine your pet’s teeth and gums.

We recommend maintaining your pet’s oral hygiene with dental treats, regular teeth brushing, or water additives. A professional dental cleaning is recommended annually.

These cleanings are performed under general anesthesia and include ultrasonic scaling of tartar and plaque, sub-gingival hand scaling, and polishing of the teeth. For diseased teeth, extractions or gingivectomy may be recommended.
